Press Room

Bronx, NY, USA – September 13, 2018 – GAL Manufacturing, a leading North American designer, manufacturer and distributor of elevator components and systems, announced today that it has brought together its six business units – GAL, GAL Canada, Hollister-Whitney, Courion, Bore-Max and Elevator Controls – under a newly-formed operating company, Vantage Elevator Solutions (“Vantage”). Vantage will continue to be led by GAL president and CEO Mark Boelhouwer and the current management team.

The establishment of Vantage brings together the best brands in the elevator components and solutions business, providing customers with a single source for the high-quality products and expertise on which they have come to rely. Additionally, customers will benefit from new enhancements, including easy ordering, simplified scheduling, labor efficiencies and increased uptime, as well as the flexibility to work with one or all six of Vantage’s brands.

“Inspired by our conversations with customers, we are bringing GAL’s individual brands together under the Vantage umbrella to create a true one-stop shop designed to meet customers’ evolving needs,” said Mr. Boelhouwer. “In uniting the best non-proprietary elevator component manufacturers, Vantage will be able to leverage the unique expertise and experience of each brand while providing customers with a strong, centralized partner. We remain committed, as always, to continuing to provide our customers with reliable and safe products as well as best-in-class service.”

GAL, GAL Canada and Hollister-Whitney were acquired by Golden Gate Capital in June 2017. To expand their customer and product base further, Courion, Bore-Max and Elevator Controls have since been added to the group of companies. Synergies between the brands have extended engineering and materials expertise, opened new avenues for innovation, promoted best practices in manufacturing, and advanced quality and continuous improvement efforts. Backed by the Vantage brand, the companies are poised to expand global resources even further, develop new markets and applications for their products, and apply operational efficiencies to better serve customers.

As part of the announcement, Vantage has launched a new website, www.vantageelevation.com, as well as a new logo, tagline, advertising program, promotions and sales tools. Vantage’s new tagline – “The Power to Move” – describes the Company’s core value proposition of enabling the safe and reliable movement of people. Vantage is participating in the upcoming National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) Conference, beginning on September 24, 2018, in Atlantic City. Vantage’s exhibit will be located at booth 927.

15 - 18 October 2019   I   Augsburg Fair   I   GermanyInterlift 2019

13 June 2018

interlift 2019: Premiere for new exhibition hall 2

Augsburg – Augsburg fair is ideally equipped for interlift 2019: With 8,000 square metres, the new hall 2 is now the largest hall at the Augsburg fair. The old hall was significantly smaller and with a lower ceiling and also made it difficult to plan larger exhibition stands. The current hall is column-free, air-conditioned and conveys a completely different feeling of space. The two Italian associations ANICA and ANACAM are therefore looking forward to the new hall. There is also more space available now for joint presentations with their partners near the VFA INTERLIFT.

Optimised integration of the additional halls 8 and 9

The continuous development of interlift, the leading exhibition for the lift industry, also means finding new ways of improving visitor experience at the Augsburg exhibition center. A significantly improved integration of the two additional halls 8 and 9 into the exhibition tour has already proved its worth at another AFAG trade fair in March. GrindTec, the world's leading trade fair for grinding technology, uses the same full setup of exhibition halls as interlift and has a comparable number of visitors (19.100) and exhibitors (645).

Carlo Ferrari, marketing manager at Wittur, visited GrindTec and was very impressed by the new direct connection from hall 3 to hall 7 through the halls 9 and 8. After the inspection Wittur agreed to use the complete hall 8 that for interlift takes the name of Wittur-Cube – for the third time in succession. The official registration form was handed over to the interlift project manager, Joachim Kalsdorf, by Carlo Ferrari at the WEE exhibition in Shanghai.

There is also a great desire for additional space in China. The AFAG organizer will therefore present interlift and investment opportunities to interested Chinese lift companies in Huzhou on 12 November, 2018.

In addition, the AFAG organiser and the technical authority VFA-Interlift e.V. will present the industry's leading international platform at all relevant lift trade fairs. A good opportunity for companies that are interested in making initial contact - says Project Manager Kalsdorf: “We visit our exhibitors at lift fairs abroad and advise companies with regard to their participation in Augsburg.“

Layout planning in August 2018

As expected, the response to the participation documents sent out at the beginning of February for interlift 2019 (as download at www.interlift.de) is very high, so the layout planning of the event will therefore already begin just as it did last time round, in August 2018. The project management should receive applications by this time at the latest, so that placement requests can still be considered, if possible.

Hotels in Augsburg:  Significantly more bedrooms booked for interlift 2019

Seven further hotels with a total of around 1,500 beds are currently in the planning phase; completion is scheduled within the next two years. The first ones will already be available for interlift 2019. As soon as specific booking information is available, it will be published on www.interlift.de. Exhibiting companies receive this information by newsletter.

Rimrock Corporation, a Microsoft Gold Cloud Solution Partner unveils FIELDBOSS Lift version 2.8 – the latest release for their award-winning elevator contractor management software.

TORONTO – 23 April 2018 – Rimrock Corporation today announced an update for its elevator contractor management solution built for the Microsoft Cloud and within Microsoft Dynamics 365. With version 2.8, FIELDBOSS Lift customers are now able to manage progress billing for construction projects and inventory stock levels within the system much more efficiently.

In addition to the two major functionality improvements, version 2.8 adds new features and performance enhancements that continue to streamline elevator contractor business processes.

“FIELDBOSS Lift 2.8 helps elevator contractors meet the needs of a North American construction market that continues to grow at over 5% annually,” said Jonathan Taub, President of Rimrock Corporation. “Owners will appreciate this release for the balance sheet focus on work in process and inventory, while users will take advantage of the usability and other improvements added in this release.” FIELDBOSS Lift 2.8, key enhancements include:

Progress Billing
New to FIELDBOSS Lift, Progress Billing allows users to create milestones and bill for multiple milestones per invoice. It is now possible to create a ‘draft’ schedule of values for contractors and architects to approve prior to developing an invoice, permitting multiple adjustments before posting. This new feature also allows customers to see the history to date on a Project by each Request for Payment.

New Inventory Functionality
FIELDBOSS Lift 2.8 includes the ability to completely track and manage inventory. New integrated functionality allows customers to track quantities, prices, and purchasing history of inventory items. The items are applied to jobs, used in the field, and therefore costed into current work. With this, warehouse inventory can still be managed by the Accounting and Purchasing side of the company.

Add Parts or Charges to a Service Activity from Mobile Device
Version 2.8 extends the innovative functionality released in previous versions to further optimize the Service Activity feature by providing the ability for a technician in the field to attribute materials (inventory and non-inventory) directly to the service ticket. Along with the ability to update time, work performed, and follow up work required, technicians can now physically apply products to the job to ensure accurate job costing.
