Summary of Responsibilities:

The Executive Director shall be tasked with leading the national scope of work for the Elevator and Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF), the leading resource for educational programs that teach the public how to  ride elevators, escalators and moving walkways properly and safely.  This person will lead the organization’s efforts to increase the reach and enhance the content of EESF’s education and training programs and to grow revenue through sponsorships, affinity relationships, advertising, and contributions.

The right individual will be a dynamic collaborator, responsible for developing strong relationships with new and existing industry partners, volunteers, target audiences, and sponsorship prospects to advance the EESF mission and objectives. This role will demand a highly skilled, strategic leader who can work collaboratively and independently while simultaneously focusing on multiple initiatives and programs. Experience with turn around preferred. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience and potential for furthering the educational needs of the industry, as well as EESF’s budget allowances. This position may telecommute from current location, there is no relocation required. Interested candidates should submit resume and cover letter. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the EESF while focusing on our Vision to achieve our Mission.
  • Review existing programs to ensure that standards of excellence are being upheld and continual improvement in the EESF education and training programs are realized.
  • Perform cost vs. benefit analyses to increase revenues and improve existing donor satisfaction
  • Manage all aspects of budgeting, fundraising, campaigns, and program improvements.
  • Increase contributions and seek new ways to expand audience.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to successfully manage staff and volunteers .
  • Experience working as strategic partner with a volunteer Board.
  • Demonstrable success reaching revenue objectives from sponsorships, advertising, affinity relationships, etc.
  • Proactive, self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to persuade across different mediums.
  • Ability to network effectively in a professional social setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Computer literacy in database management and applicable software.
  • Possess intermediate-level skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Work under minimal supervision.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel 30 percent or more as needed.
