The National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) is seeking a member services and marketing communications professional who will be responsible for all internal and external promotions and communications functions for the association. This includes development and implementation of marketing and communications plans, social media sites, newsletters, special email blasts, event programs and scripts. The person holding this position is also responsible for all aspects of managing association membership; marketing all events and programs; and promoting the association to internal and external audiences in order to grow membership and revenue.


Leads in creation and direction of general marketing, communications and branding strategy for the association in order to increase association membership and grow revenue.


Some travel and public speaking may be required. General office work environment.


  • Create and execute overall marketing and branding strategy for all NAEC events, programs, products, and initiatives in order to grow membership and revenue.
  • Develop a comprehensive marketing and public relations plan for the association, promoting the benefits, value, and success of utilizing NAEC membership benefits to assist members, trade outlets, and media to communicate NAEC’s vision, mission, and core values.
  • Create a plan that develops and maintains strong positive relationships with industry partners, as well as contractor, supplier, and associate members.
  • Ensure the timely development of association marketing and promotional pieces.
  • Create a strategy for sales of all NAEC products, including membership, education and tradeshow attendance from both contractor and supplier sides.
  • Ensure that the NAEC promotions booth, at other industry events/conferences, reflects the association’s professional image at all times.
  • Knowledge of surveys, data collection, design programs, PowerPoint, membership databases, as well as social media and web site management.
  • Write and edit copy, press releases, ads and minutes, including the development and execution of press releases and committee minutes.
  • Directory: Act as editor of the NAEC directory and supervise all aspects of its preparation.
  • Ad and Sponsorship Sales: Create ad sales strategy and appropriate policies that interface with and complement association sponsorship programs.
  • Maintain a cooperative and close working relationship with staff, and membership and volunteers.
  • Successfully handle ongoing department budgetary duties as assigned.
  • Travel to events, conferences, conventions, and other programs as requested.
  • Potential to serve as committee liaison.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or public relations. Minimum of three years’ experience in the marketing or communications field, with no less than two years in the promotion of the industry and/or not-for-profit professional associations.
