Minden, NV- On March 23rd & 24th 2022 Maxton provided three elevator control valve training classes for 15 mechanics from University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. These classes provide the mechanics with credits (4.0 CET/CAT credit hours) through the NAEC’s approved Continuing Education Program. Each session included classroom instruction and practical hands on application through valve adjustment and troubleshooting common field issues with the Maxton TA4M training unit.

Here are just a few comments from elevator mechanics in attendance:

“Hands on trainer was very helpful to apply classroom and field conditions together.”
“Really enjoyed the class. Great info and insight. Hope we can schedule again.”
“Troubleshooting on trainer while being instructed and follow the process with Landon was very helpful.”

Following each training participants show noticeable strides in confidence, efficiency, and ability to target key information from the classes where they have the most to gain in solving problems within their facilities.

“The team at U of A was very inquisitive during both the classroom and hands-on portion of the training. Due to their questions, I was able to give in-depth information into one of the biggest areas of concern (hot oil) and how it effects the overall performance of their hydraulic elevator systems,” said Landon Smallwood, Maxton Quality Manager/Tech Support Supervisor.

3Phase Excel expands into Ohio, adds Gable to its family of independents

CANTON, Mass. & CLEVELAND - 3Phase Elevator, a leading independent elevator and escalator services provider, today announced that it has merged with Gable Elevator, a provider of elevator maintenance, repair, and modernization services in the Cleveland and Columbus markets. The merger enables 3Phase to establish a strong presence in Ohio as it continues to expand nationally. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Gable Elevator, a family-owned and operated company, uses non-proprietary elevator components and elevator equipment to service commercial buildings in the surrounding areas of Cleveland and Columbus. The company has achieved its growth in Ohio by creating long-term value through its commitment to customers. The existing Gable team, led by Phil Isaac and Matt Schumann, will remain in place and the company will continue to serve customers under the Gable Elevator brand. Rick Gable, who has made strong contributions to the business, has decided to retire from the business. “It was important for me to transition our business to the right partner and 3Phase will support the team and help it grow to the next level,” said Rick Gable.

“What attracted Gable to 3Phase was how similar their approach is to ours in serving customers. The customer is always right, and our goal should be to exceed expectations on every service call,” said Phil Isaac, owner and operator of Gable Elevator. “We are excited about the future with 3Phase because, as a small independent, we can only take on so much opportunity. This partnership gives us the ability to grow faster and expand beyond the Cleveland and Columbus markets throughout the Midwest.”

“Expansion into Ohio has been a strategic priority for 3Phase, and Gable is the most respected independent in the market. When we first met Rick and Phil, we knew they were like-minded partners,” said Mike Strachan, CEO of 3Phase Elevator. “This partnership gives us an opportunity to continue our path of growth throughout the Midwest.”

Harvey & Company served as the exclusive financial advisor to 3Phase for this transaction.

Tournament to benefit Folds of Honor and Warrior Dog Foundation

CYPRESS, California, December 20, 2021 – The Elevator and Escalator Division of Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc., headquartered in Cypress, California, hosted its second charity golf tournament on Wednesday, November 10, benefitting Folds of Honor and Warrior Dog Foundation.

The tournament hosted nearly 150 Mitsubishi Electric US business partners, vendors and employee volunteers at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, California. The event raised $60,000 from sponsorship opportunities, player registrations, donations, and matching grant funding from the Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation.

“In 2019, with everyone’s help and contributions we were able to support wounded veterans,” says Jarrad Jones, Southern California branch manager for the Elevator and Escalator Division.

“We had to skip 2020 due to pandemic restrictions and we are very excited to be able to pick up where we left off. We are grateful to all who have contributed to two amazing nonprofits, Folds of Honor and Warrior Dog Foundation.”

Folds of Honor, which will receive $30,000 from the event, provides educational scholarships to the families of military men and women who have fallen or been disabled while on active duty in the United States Armed Forces. Support for Folds of Honor helps children in grades K-12 with private educational tuition and tutoring, as well as higher education assistance for spouses and dependents.

The Warrior Dog Foundation, which will also receive $30,000 from the event, offers the highest level of retirement care to military working dogs who have dedicated their lives to serving the country and community. By providing mental and physical rehabilitation, these K9s, that would otherwise be euthanized, are rehomed. Mitsubishi Electric US is a proud supporter of both nonprofit organizations.
