How long is the exam?
Both CAT and CET certification exams are 3.5 hours and comprise 160 questions each. Both exams use scaled scoring. The QEI certification exam is 8 hours which includes a mandatory 30-minute break. The QEI exam comprises 160 questions and uses raw scoring.

The NAEC Certification Board has been created to promote quality elevator technicians; accessibility and private residence lift technicians; and related technicians through verification of formal education and examination of an individual’s experience within the industry.
