No. NAEC does not accept transfers of QEI certifications issued by other certification bodies.
This policy is based on accreditation requirements established by ANAB, which require certification bodies to have a recognized, standards-based process for determining equivalency between certification programs and examinations administered by different organizations. Because QEI certification programs and examination processes are proprietary, certification bodies generally do not share the detailed information necessary to evaluate and document equivalency. As a result, NAEC is unable to verify that another organization's certification requirements and examination processes are equivalent to those of the NAEC QEI Certification Program.
Consequently, NAEC cannot recognize or transfer a QEI certification issued by another organization in lieu of NAEC's certification requirements. Individuals seeking QEI certification through NAEC must complete all applicable certification requirements, including successfully passing the required examinations, regardless of any certifications earned through other organizations.
